Hello everyone, my name is Miguel Cardoso and I'm a photographer and a Photoshop Instructor, born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal. Being 48 years of age allows me to get along with the cool people while keeping up with the wiser ones. By the way, I'm the older one in the photo, the handsome one is my boy David.
All my adult life, I've been fortunate enough to enjoy the three things I'm passionate about: to travel, teach and photography.
Son of an Air Force pilot, I started traveling as a baby, going back and forward, between Lisbon and Africa.
Later, as a young man, my family and I lived for three years in Washington D.C. and we took that opportunity to visit other places like New York, Rio de Janeiro and Ottawa. This trip was particularly important because around this time I took the first steps as a photographer, taking the first photos, the first travel images, I guess you could say. Since then the camera never left and photography became part of my life. Besides my family, photography is my oldest relationship. I know, every photographer as a similar story, well, I guess I'm no exception.
For my honeymoon, you've guessed it, Paris, in all its beauty, was the obvious choice. More recently, I was delighted by the italian cities, amazed by London and enchanted by Prague.
When I began teaching Photoshop, photographers still had to put rolls of film in their cameras and I had no idea this tool would become so important for us. Although one of the best softwares in the world, Photoshop can be very intimidating and I had the pleasure to help a lot of photographers take the first steps. Nowadays I teach the entire Photoshop family: Photoshop itself, Lightroom and Elements.
What can I tell you about taking pictures, particularly travel pictures? If you're reading this, you probably know how it feels. Your eyes start to see everything differently, a brand new world happens and you have to make images even when you don't have your camera with you. Photography ia a way of life and if you hadn't taken any photos for a while, you start feeling that something is missing. You know it´s time to go away and look for that special travel image.
Anyway, when it comes to photography, I prefer that the photos themselves do the talking, so I invite you to take a look at the image galleries and if you feel that those pictures relate to you, I'm sure we'll have a great time together
Combining the passion of traveling, photography and teaching in one activity was the dream and that's how mC Photo Tours was born.
Hope to see you soon,
