It's all too easy to return from your travels with just a random series of images of every subject and sight that lacks a real sense of purpose. The answer is to shoot to a theme, subject or story that gives you a common thread.
This can be as simple as exploring different ways of shooting a single subject or location, or creating a photo-essay to document events that you've experienced.
With a little research you can decide on your theme before you go. Manny locations will be famous for a particular subject, like classic cars in Cuba, temples in Thailand or skyscrapers in New York.
In Lisbon, particularly in the traditional and popular old neighbourhoods, houses are very colourful and that could very interesting photographic theme. Some of them are not in great shape but those textures created by time, usually add interest to your photo.
